Hayes Cottage Nursing Home is located in scenic surroundings and offers an ideal interior for carers to specialise in mental health related care, including for adults with dementia and learning disabilities. After our visit we spoke with eight relatives of people who use the service and two professionals who have worked with the service recently. We continued to seek clarification from the provider to validate evidence found. We looked at two people's care plans, staff training and quality assurance records, risk assessments, action plans and recruitment information for five staff. We take great care supporting person-centred living where lifestyle and happiness needs of each Resident are paramount. Our devoted team of professionals provide nursing care that are tailored to meet individual medical needs and individual care preferences.

We will continue to monitor information we receive about the service, which will help inform when we next inspect. Aston House Care Home
It monitors and inspects services, to make sure they are safe, effective and provide high-quality care. EAC sees itself, and this website, as one source of ‘housing options’ information and advice for older people and their families. But there are many other organisations providing valuable services, both locally and nationally. We looked at infection prevention and control measures under the Safe key question. We look at this in all care home inspections even if no concerns or risks have been identified.

Think of them more like full-board hotel accommodation with 24 hour care available. Those run by private operators more often focus on lifestyle, with help and care services discretely available to buy if or when required. Both ownership and rental options are commonly available, as well as alternative ways of paying for the services on offer – including part deferring payment until a property is sold.
We offer Day Care programs, Residential and 24-hour Nursing care as well as Palliative and End of Life care for the elderly and young people with physical disabilities. A registered manager is a person who has registered with the Care Quality Commission to manage the service. This means that they and the provider are legally responsible for how the service is run and for the quality and safety of the care provided. At the time of our inspection there was not a registered manager in post. The manager had been promoted to their post in May 2022 and was planning to register in the near future.
Caring is our Business
Others also provide nursing, and will have a nurse on duty twenty-four hours a day. The inspection was carried out by two inspectors, a special professional advisor and an Expert by Experience. The specialist professional advisor worked had expertise in nursing care. An Expert by Experience is a person who has personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses this type of care service. Our infection prevention and control inspections look at how well people using a service are kept safe from the spread of infections. The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

The service worked with other agencies to provide people with joined up care. Staff had training on how to recognise and report safeguarding concerns and they knew how to do so. The provider worked with other agencies to investigate concerns.

At the time of the inspection there were 44 people living at the home. Inspection activity started on 13 July 2022 and ended on 10 August 2022. We visited the location’s office/service location on 27 July 2022. We spoke with six people who used the service., a visiting professional, and a variety of staff.
This site offers providers of services, accommodation and related advice a free opportunity to advertise what you do. The site’s 4 million visitors a year comprise roughly 45% older people, 45% younger family and relatives, and 10% professionals who work with older people. Some care homes are registered to provide personal care only, for example help with washing, dressing and giving medication.
EAC Advice is a free, specialist and independent telephone advice service provide by the charity Elderly Accommodation Counsel . We frame our offer around ‘home’ because we understand its importance for everyone. As with hotels, the cost of living in a care home varies widely according to its location, the size of your room or suite, and the facilities on offer. There is often a substantial difference between fees charged to those who can afford the costs themselves and those who receive help from their Local Authority. A majority of homes aim to cater for both, but some target only one or the other.

A care home is a residential setting where a number of older people live, usually in single rooms or hotel-style suites, because they need regular or continuous access to care. Housing-with-care developments run by housing associations and local authorities tend to be called ‘extra care’ or ‘independent living’ schemes, and explicitly seek to accommodate people who need daily help. Buying a ‘home for life plan’, or ‘lifetime lease’, gives you the right to live in a property until you die or move to a care home.
